Every year (2022–2025), my technologies were presented at the Technical Fair in Plovdiv, where they received a Gold Medal and Diploma, four in total so far.
At the awards ceremony in the hall with the stage in the main pavilion, around 300 people gather, and the ceremony proceeds with awards across different sectors, congratulations, and speeches of gratitude to the jury.
It always happened that my award was the last. They call my name, I stand up from my seat and walk toward the stage. With my peripheral vision I see the jury smiling at me benevolently, and I catch the phrase: “We are watching architect Nedialkov’s show.” Show or not – every time I make a speech that is widely discussed afterwards, and I receive congratulations.

Plovdiv, Technical Fair (30 September 2025)
Award ceremony with Gold Medal and Diploma for: “Innovative construction technology based on biomaterials.”
They announce the award and my name. Applause. I walk toward the stage carrying in my hand a cube of the new building material – a construction block called “Tsarigrad”, made from chopped and compressed corn stalks – a competitor to insulation materials used up to now.
On stage, Dr. Ivan Sokolov presents me with the award, gives me the medal and diploma, and hands me the microphone.
“Good evening, I thank the benevolent jury for this prestigious award for our efforts – one of the few untainted awards today. For me, this medal and diploma represent an incentive to move forward and to continuously develop our Bulgaria.” Applause. Flashes. While they are applauding, I reach for the block at my feet and hold it in my hand.
“I will once again repeat my gratitude and my assurance that I value very highly the award of the Plovdiv Fair – the Gold Medal and Diploma.
However, allow me the audacity to declare that what I am holding in my hand (I raise the cube high) has a higher gold content…
Because this is a piece of the Wall of Fortress Europe. Why did I choose to express it this way, metaphorically?
Because every year the countries of Europe spend nearly 200 billion euros on purchasing oil and gas, in order to produce insulating construction materials such as Styrofoam, Fibran, etc. With this money, hard-earned by us, the oil barons supply us with wars, terrorism, refugee waves, and general instability of the global economy. Then we, the West, have to spend several hundred billion more every year on defence… At first glance – a bleak picture! A spiral into hell...
What do we, from European Bulgaria, propose? To discover oil wells? Gas fields? No! It is better to open our wells of grey matter and use our unbeatable potential in innovation and invention.”
Applause. Dr. Ivan Sokolov prompts me: “Architect Nedialkov, tell us what it is that we awarded.”
“Our invention is a new ecological construction material, fully replacing the existing petroleum-based and environmentally polluting building materials. This is the new building block – ‘Tsarigrad’, made from chopped and compressed corn stalks – a competitor to the insulation materials used up to now. Tsar and City – we build from corn. Entirely of Bulgarian origin – from the labour of Bulgarians and the fertility of our land. Previously considered waste, chopped and buried in the soil, but we discovered its remarkable properties, surpassing those of petroleum products. At the same time, this material is sustainable, meaning it is renewable and inexhaustible, which means it will exist this year, the next year, the year after, and so on, until the end of the world. For example, in this dry year (2025), Bulgaria produced over three million tons of corn grain and buried another three million tons of stalks...”
Applause and shouts of “Bravo!”
“... A product that does not poison the air, does not pollute nature, but brings only benefits. And we can calmly abandon the oil barons and instead of giving them these colossal sums, invest them in our own development. Thank you once again!”
